Mercury International  announces partnership with The Craig Bellamy Foundation

 

 Mercury International sponsor the third season of the CBF League With the sum of Le 45,000,000.00.

The  Chairman Of Mercury International Mr. Samir Hassanyeh handed over the cheque of the said amount to Mr Tim Kellow Ceo of the CBF Foundation. Its unique model of using children's love of football to increase school attendance and develop their communities is generating a great deal of attention and high-profile support  as thousands of fans flock to see the children in action across the country.  Tim Kellow, the foundation's CEO, underlined his pleasure at the level of interest, "we're delighted that so many companies want to support teams in our league, they've heard of our model and the impacts we've achieved and are keen to align their brand with ours.

 

Mercury International were one of the first companies to pledge their support to this unique league by sponsoring four teams, one in each of the four regions that CBF operates. In Makeni, High Table FC; in Kenema, Fatsam FC; in Bo, Getwise United; and in Freetown, Young Fisher Stars.  Executive Director of  Mercury International & Chairman of Mercury Radio station Mr. Martin Michael, confirmed the sponsorship  saying "what really impresses us is the continued commitment of CBF to go beyond football and ensure that the young people of this country are attending school and actively engaging with the development of their communities. This approach fits perfectly with Mercury's own scholarship programme, underlining our long term commitment to education in Sierra Leone". Mercury's sponsorship is enough to provide 160 children with school scholarships whilst also funding each team's costs for the season.

 

CBF matches take place on alternative Saturdays with community development projects taking place in the weeks in between. The next match days will be on February 4th at the following locations in Freetown; Approved School Field, Kingtom Field, Parade Ground, Foureh Bay and Stadium Practice Fields. In Makeni; Bishop Comforti and Pastoral Centre Fields, in Bo; New Police Barracks and Pastoral Centre fields and in Kenema; KDC and Islamic Fields.

 

The Marketing Manager ( Mr. Michael Carpito) on Sunday 8th January 2012 received word of three(3) winning ticket which where forwarded to the It department for verification.
These three(3) tickets where verified as winings.The winnings took place in the oddset ,set number 3747.
The three tickets where won by three different individuals who won varying cash prices.
Ticket number 1 won: Le 11,640,400
Ticket number 2 won: Le 19,691,500
Ticket number 3 won: Le 40,544,700
 
The payments of these winnings took place at the Mercury Payment center at  26 Walpole street Freetown.
Total Winnings on oddsets for Saturday games was: Le 807,462,287......

Radio Mercury Fm 92.0 & Mercury International website www.betatmercury.com was officially launched on Monday 19th December 2011 at the radio stations head quarter at Rawdon Street.
The occasion was grace by dignitaries such as the Hon Minister Of Information And Communication Alhagie I.B Kargbo, Chairman Of Mercury International Mr. Samir Hassanyeh, Executive Director of  Mercury International & Chairman of Mercury Radio station Mr. Martin Michael, Representative from Independent Media Commision,Natcom &Swasal.
 
The opening prayer was given by the Manager of the Year Mercury International Rev Ronnie Decker, who thank God for his grace, favor and his presence in bring this project to completion.
 
The Chairman of the occasion Mr. Kwame Ben-Carew (deputy Station Manager) introduced guests and gave the opening remarks.
The Executive Director Mercury int & Chairman of Mercury Radio station made a few remarks stating that mercury radio was her to compliment other radio stations and a continuity in the relationship between Mercury  international and all other bodies such as Swasal etc.. He also Noted that Mercury radio was a liberal radio station bent on the promotion of sports and entertainment in Sierraleone.In closing her extend his gratitude to the Chairman of Mercury International Mr. hassanyeh for his support in bring this project to completion.
 
in closing the Manager Of Radio Mercury Fm 92.0 introduced the first batch of volunteer staff. He extended his thanks and appreciations to the Board, Management and staff of Mercury International and also his gratitude to all bodies u participated in making this program a success.
 
 
Mercury Int Limited Sponsored the Retired Football Heroes to attend a tournament of retired football player in West Africa which took place in Mali Bamako.
Five Countries Participated which were: The Gambia, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Mali , and our very own Sierra Leone.
 
The retired Football Heroes of Sierra Leone hosted the last tournament her in Sierra Leone.
An Opening speech was given by the Director Chief Bia Kabia expressing the details of there trip and adventures they had on route to Mali. He also express his thanks to the Management of Mercury International for making there trip a success.
The chairman of the group Mr. Omar Din-Sesay also commended his team mates and members of the Group for there hard work and committement thought out the tournament where Sierra Leone emerged as the runners up with a silver medal and trophy after a 1-0 defeat to Mali the the last minutes of overtime.
 
The Managing Director of Mercury International Mr. Martin Michael applauded them for there effort,committment and outstanding performance in the tournament. He extend his appreciation to the team for bring pride to the nation and also encouraged younger footballers to follow in the foot steps of the Hero's
in bring pride,moral,respect and loyalty in there sporting activities.
He also extended a continuity in the support to the hero's bring in light that Mercury sponsors only events with bring development to the Nation and drew light to the suspension of sponsorship to the Premier football
ledge which remains in place till the Beginning of the new year noting that the suspension will only be raised after certain question have been answer by the committee.
 
In closing the secretary Miss Joyce Redwood Sawyer also a former defender of the Sierra Leone female football team expressed the groups thanks and  appreciation to the management of Mercury for there support, noting that they will be looking forward to mercury been there leading sponsor again in the up coming Tournament for 2012 which will be held in Senegal.
 
The Management Of Mercury International is proud to be the Leading sponsor of the Heroes Foundation of retired football Players and extends a hand of support and sponsorship to all sporting disciplines and asks other firms and organizations to join them in the development of sports and the Nation of Sierra Leone as a whole.
 
Mercury International annual staff party and award night took place on Wednesday 14th December 2011 at the Saint Anthony Hall Skye Street.. It was organized by the Board & Management  to recognize the hard work of staff thought out the year, as the saying goes "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy".
Member of the Board were present to grace the occasion as well as member of the public who were invited.
 
Different category of award were given to outstanding staff member for the 2011 Fiscal year. These categories of award were: Best Manager, Best Male staff, Best Female staff, Overall Best staff of the year & The rising Star of Mercury..

The Mercury Sponsor SWASAL(Sports Writers Association Of Sierra Leone) award took place on the 3rd of December 2011 at the Miatta Conference Hall. Important Personalities in sports where invited to grace the event. A statement was given by the Managing Director of Mercury International limited Mr. Martin Michael. The President of SWASAL recognized Mercury international for there support and contribution in making this event a success, and also for there Contribution in the promotion of sports in Sierra Leone.
