Breaking News: Mercury International rescues Sierra Leone national team

Once more, Sierra Leone’s leading and unchallenged Sports Betting and Lottery company, Mercury International have on Thursday, March 29, 2018, came to the rescue of football in Sierra Leone with a major boost to the country’s National youth U-20 team.

The Sports Betting and Lottery Company presented the sum of US$30,000 to the Sports Ministry as a massive support to the National U-20 team ahead of their first leg U-20 AFCON preliminary round qualifier against Guinea Bissau.

According to the company’s Managing Director, Martin Michael, their timely support towards the national U-20 team following the request of the sports ministry adding that the sponsorship will cover the entire trip of the Sierra Leone delegation to Guinea Bissau plus other cost and per-diem.

“As a company, we are happy to once again rescue football in the country and we hope this support will not only ginger the team to success but it is also a special motivation for the players to fly the country’s flag higher,” M.D Martin Michael said and further wish the team success.

Sierra Leone will travel to Guinea Bissau on Good Friday, March 30, 2018, ahead of the first leg on April 1, 2018, at the 24 de Setembro Stadium while the return leg is expected to be played at Bo City Stadium in Southern Region of Sierra Leone on a fortnight.

This will be the 21st edition of the Total Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, the biennial international youth football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for players aged 20 and below. The winner between Sierra Leon and Guinea Bissau will face Flying Eagles of Nigeria.
