Mercury International celebrates winners in end of season Raffle Promotion….winners walk away with ‘Kekeh’ & Motor-bike

Sierra Leone’s leading Sports Betting and Lottery Company, Mercury International, honoured the winners of its highly anticipated end-of-season promotion raffle in a colourful ceremony last Monday.
The event was filled with excitement as winners were awarded their prizes ranging from a Tricycle (Kekeh), Motor Bikes and Helmet, 5 KVA Generator, and 5 Samsung Mobile phones, marking a successful conclusion of another exciting promotional campaign.
In his opening statement, the company’s Deputy Public Relations Manager, Sahr Morris Jr expressed gratitude to all participants and highlighted the importance of rewarding loyal customers.
He said: “The End of Season Promotion is all about giving back to our valued players, and today, we celebrate their achievements.”
Deputy Online Manager, Octavus Jackson, said the End of Season Promotion Raffle promotion was an online promotion which was introduced with the support of their International partners. He said it gives opportunity to customers who are playing the Mercury International virtual games, the casino, and other betting online games of the Company, including football.
He further revealed that, in addition to Kekeh, the second prize winner rode away with a Motorbike and Helmet, while the third prize winner collected a motorbike.
Representing the Managing Director, Chief of Operations, Beresford Burnce Coker advised the winners to put to good use their winnings, adding that the promotions introduced by Mercury are purely not profit-making but to give back to customers who are always there.

Scrap Metal Hurdler wins Nle 250,000 Mercury Lotto draw

A Sierra Leonean scrap metal hurdler, Idrissa Kamara, who lives in Freetown, has beaten the odds and won NLe 250,000 from the Nap 5+ in the Mercury Kakau Mid-day lottery draw.
38-year-old Kamara placed a little sum of Nle 50 as a stake on five numbers 24-42-14-41-65, which provided the winning that saw him walk away with a bumpy sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Million Old Leones.
The lucky Kamara admitted that his win came as a surprise, and it was his first ever biggest win in Mercury lottery games.
” It is a dream come true for me, and I felt so happy, for what I consider to be a victory,” he said, adding that the reality in the game is unchallenged.
“This is a game someone should never give up on, and I advise everyone to play responsibly and be consistent,”.
Kamara vowed to utilise the winnings in a better and reasonable way by developing his plot of land and utilising some of the funds towards his business.

Mercury International Donates Food Items To Susans Bay Community

The management and staff of Mercury International Lottery and Betting Company on the 19th March 2025 donated food items to the Sunsans Bay community in Freetown.

Presenting the food items to Councillor Mohamed Fofanah, who received the food items on behalf of the Susans Bay community, Allieu Bockarie, a staff member of Radio Mercury, said that the donation was from the staff and management of Mercury International.

This, he said, is the way the Company used to share their profits with their customers and non-customers. Allieu told the councillor that Mercury betting is a winning to the individual and a profit for the nation. As such, he said it is the profit from the lotto, and the football betting that they used to give out scholarships, donate to fire and flooding disaster victims, build schools, give out medical helps and donate food items to vulnerable communities.

Allieu told the Councillor that this is not the first time that Mercury has donated food items to Susans Bay. He called on the Susans Bay people to Mercury betting their first and priority among the lot so that more profit will come to be shared among the people.

Receiving the food items, Councillor Fofanah thanked the management and staff of Mercury, especially when it is during Ramadan. He went on to say that this is the first time as a Councillor receiving food items from Mercury for the community. Councillor Fofanah went on to say that he is taking the food items and the message to the Susans Bay community people.

On the issue of playing Mercury games, he said 80% of the population plays Mercury games. He said his only advice is for the retailers to be transparent and give full respect to the customers.

Among the donated food items were bags of rice, bags of onions, Cow Bell Sachet milk powder, Boxes of tea leaf, cooking oil, Overtine, Padi Mayonnais,e Padi sardines and Luncheon meat.

Mercury International CFO presents championship title to Billiards and Snookers winner

Mercury International Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Ekundayo E Rowe, on Saturday, 8th February, presented the championship title to the first-ever Sierra Leone Billiards and Snookers Association champion at the Kabana Club, Lumley Beach, Freetown.

The Mercury CFO, who represented the MD, while presenting the trophy to the inaugural winner, Eid Ahmed, said, as a company, they are proud to sponsor the tournament and see Sierra Leoneans explore their sporting talents in other sporting disciplines.

“Our support to the Sierra Leone Billiards and Snookers Association championship shows we are not only doing this for football, but we want to explore new avenues of sporting disciplines and help them grow,” Rowe said.

Ekundayo Rowe further stated that they were pleased to see the massive turnout of people embracing a new sport, and the competitors’ performance proved it was not an easy tournament but a competitive one.

The prestigious Billiards and Snooker tournament showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship. It culminated in a thrilling final match that kept spectators, including the Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James Teima, Managing Director of Rokel Bank, Dr Walton Ekundayo Gilpin and others on the edge. A captivating display of precision and strategy, the winner claimed the title amidst cheers and applause, marking a significant achievement in the competitive world of cue sports.
